Learners will be provided with a data set to create a cash flow forecast using Excel/Google Sheets. Learners will then make a key business decision based on the forecast.
This resource is a case study which involves launching a brand new product. This case study can be used to cover Marketing, Teamwork and Economic Sectors. This case study was used when delivering Unit 11: Building Successful Business Teams but could be used for many other lesson topics. The case study involves using a rare superfruit grown in Africa. The group activity incorporates Marketing, Procurement and Stakeholder theory.
This casestudy provides a scenario for learners to apply a PESTLE and SWOT analysis too. The case study has two grids attached, one for PESTLE one for SWOT. This group activity is engaging and allows the learners to apply their knowledge to the given situation.
This resources gives the learners different market research scenarios. On an individual basis, learners will decide if each situation provides Primary or Secondary research and if the data will be Qualitative or Quantitative when collected. Learners then get into pairs and peer assess their results.
This 12 slide presentation features 10 different customer service scenarios. Learners are required to analyse each scenario and come up with an action plan for each. They must also discuss the skills required to ensure the scenario is dealt with effectively. This activity can be used for a variety of qualifications and contexts.
This series of tasks were created to be used with the BTEC Level 1 Business specification but can be adapted to be used on a variety of situations. The tasks require the learners to develop their Microsoft Excel skills. This pack of activities includes 3 different briefs that provide key information that learners must interpret and use to populate a spreadsheet. They will be required to use key Excel functions, such as SUM.
I have included Excel files demonstrating how the spreadsheet should look as a model answer. These activities are challenging but rewarding as they assess a variety of skills.v

*Task: nominate a learner for each of the given roles. Stand them at the front of the class holding their role name. Read out each problem and ask the class which area of the business you would report to, discuss each answer.
